As the class 4A tourist spots in China, Shanghai Happy Valley located at the scenic Shehan tourism resort and put on a number of wonderful shows from all over the world.

《Lake of Illusions》, a large-scale nighttime spectacular, including: music, lighting, electrical, fire, water, phantom and all element to interpret a Chinese myth drama called "World Beginning, Eternal Sword". The perform show at the lake center where accommodates approx.1500 spectators with a 360° panoramic view.

《Lake of Illusions》 debuted on July 10th 2016 and the show is created, designed and produced by ECA2. ECA2 is a French event production company specialized in creation, design and production of multimedia shows and large-scale events, representative shows included 1998 French World Cup and both the opening & closing ceremony of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

The sound system mainly designed in d&b V-Series, weather resistance version. The WR (weather resistance) version guarantees the precise operation of the loudspeakers in ambient changing for outdoor application.

There are Vi8 WR X 12pcs full range loudspeakers for the middle and far field, Vi12 WR X 6pcs aiming to the near field and Vi-Sub WR X 6pcs take care the low end, additionally E12-D WR is used for side fill. The amplifiers driven the whole system are D80 and D20.

The Vi8 WR is a 3-way passive design featuring two 10" neodymium LF drivers, one hornloaded 8" MF driver, two 14" exit HF compression drivers with 2.5" voicecoils mounted to a dedicated waveshaping device. It produces an exceptional 80° horizontal constant directivity dispersion control nominally being maintained down to 250 Hz.

The Vi12 WR line array module, which is acoustically and mechanically compatible with the Vi8 WR, differ only in the 120° horizontal constant directivity dispersion. The symmetrical dipolar arrangement of the neodymium LF drivers around the centrally mounted coaxial MF and HF components allows a smooth overlap of the adjacent frequency bands in the crossover design.

The d&b D20 and D80 amplifiers can be accessed via the d&b remote network, through either Ethernet or CAN-Bus, providing all the power to effectively control, using the d&b R1 remote control software by laptop with Windows or MAC operating system.

The D20 and D80 provide two user-definable 16-band equalizers with parametric, notch, shelving and asymmetric filters and up to 10 seconds of delay, all of which can be applied to each of the amplifiers' four channels.

For this show, the installation duration of the audio system including all the equipment took around 1 month. In addition, the programming of the audio system and all the other equipment took also around 1 month. The rigorous installation and programming procedures ensure the safety and the stable of the system for daily operation.

“Regarding the opinion of the local operators, as we are always providing the easiest, most open system in the industry for our shows, it makes their job easier.” concluded ECA2.

《Lake of Illusions》added an unique color to the night life of Shanghai Happy Valley. The show is already highly appreciated by spectators and it presents a great success as it has been almost fully crowded every night since it opened.
