Based on the three way, passive design of d&b audiotechnik’s V-Series line array modules but ina point source conÀ guration, the V7P and V10P enclosures have debuted with the bold declaration that they represent ‘a new breedof loudspeaker’.

Inside the enclosures are two 10-inch drivers in a dipolar arrangement with a rear mounted 8-inch MF driver attached to a dual chamber horn. According to the manufacturer, the exits from this horn design create another dipole around a centrally mounted single 1.4-inch exit compression driver (with a constant directivity horn). The reported result is that ‘almost the entire bafÁ e board radiates’.

In terms of coverage, the V7P delivers 75-degrees x 40-degrees while the V10P offers 110-degrees x 40-degrees. Due to the dipolar arrangement of the LF drivers, broadband dispersion control is reportedly maintained down to approximately 350Hz in the same plane as the dipole. A rotatable horn is also included for Á exibility of mounting options. In terms of low-end, both cabinets boast an LF venting design intended to deliver a frequency response of 59Hz to 18kHz.

Meanwhile, applications requiring further low end extension can opt for the V-GSUB, which is matched to the V7P and V10P for ground-stacking. A cardioid sub, the enclosure requires only one ampliÀ er channel and has the same driver arrangement and performance as the V Sub (an 18-inch driver in a bass reÁ ex design facing towards the front and a 12-inch driver in a two chamber bandpass system radiating towards the rear).

Finally, installation versions of all three models are available, named the Vi7P, Vi10P and ViGSUB, with special colour options and weather resistant À nishes.
