  • SWS to represent TIMAX in Hong Kong and China

    2012-03-27
  • Sound Works & Supplies (SWS) is to distribute the TiMax2 SoundHub audio show-control matrix and TiMax Tracker performer tracking system in Hong Kong and China following its appointment by UK-based theatre sound automation specialist Out Board.

The new arrangement was recently marked in Hong Kong with a TiMax workshop hosted by SWS principals Freddie To and Daniel Chan, with Out Board Director Robin Whittaker demonstrating the principles of the TiMax delay-based system to approximately 40 invited guests.

Audience members reportedly learnt how continuously varying audio localisation could be applied to wireless vocal microphones using the TiMax2 SoundHub delay matrix, and how this could be automated via continuous control by the TiMax Tracker system. The sound effect and playback server capabilities of SoundHub were also explained.

‘We’ve been fortunate to have strong representation building the TiMax brand in the Hong Kong and PRC territories in the past,’commented Out Board director Dave Haydon. ‘I’m confident that this strategic move to a company with the pedigree and reach of Sound Works Supplies will shift our market penetration to an even higher level.’

Further TiMax workshops are scheduled to take place during the Palm Expo China 2012 exhibition, which will take place at Beijing’s International Exhibition Center between May 24th and 27th.
