Located in Incheon, just 30 kilometers from Seoul, the new Chroma club has been named one of the world's Top 100 Clubs by DJ Mag. It boasts state-of-the-art laser lighting equipment and a brand-new d&b audiotechnik GSL sound system.

Chroma has entered the world's largest growing market for electronic music, setting a new benchmark for technologically advanced entertainment experiences. Located at the Paradise City resort near Incheon International Airport in South Korea, the venue is a stunning windowless cubic structure with a capacity of 3,000 people. Its main dance floor features not only advanced laser lighting but also a newly installed d&b audiotechnik GSL sound system.

Chroma's four floors seamlessly blend diverse musical genres including EDM, House, Pop, Hip-Hop, and Techno. The ground floor features a music corridor with standing bars, strategically designed to build anticipation for the main stage and dance floor on the second level. The VIP area on the third floor includes a tropical swimming pool, while the fourth floor hosts a beach bar nestled beneath the venue's distinctive rooftop canopy.

Jun Han from d&b audiotechnik Korea oversaw the complete sound system installation at Chroma. "The Paradise City team wanted Chroma to become the loudest high-end club in Korea," Han stated. "They visited numerous renowned clubs and EDM festivals abroad and knew exactly the sound reinforcement results they wanted to achieve. The exceptional clarity delivered by the d&b GSL system, regardless of where guests are positioned in the club, left a profound impression on them."

In the main dance floor and stage area, Han and his team deployed GSL8 and GSL12 loudspeakers in left-right arrays, complemented by SL-SUB subwoofers in ground-stacked horizontal arrays. All speaker enclosures were powered by D80 digital amplifiers.

"Ensuring consistent sound coverage across the entire dance floor and main stage area was critical," Han explained. "The GSL system's full-range directivity control and cardioid technology deliver uniformly rich audio throughout the space, which was exactly what they required."

"The GSL system provides equal sound pressure levels and frequency response across all listening areas, while generating powerful acoustic energy and sufficient dynamic headroom to create an unparalleled listening experience," he continued. "Party-goers can fully immerse themselves in the DJ's powerful music without any intrusive noise interference, and even after prolonged exposure, they won't experience listening fatigue."

Han utilized d&b ArrayProcessing line array optimization technology to create custom filters for precisely controlling the GSL line array system's performance throughout the entire listening area. "We configured extensive ArrayProcessing parameters to accommodate various music genres such as EDM, pop, hip-hop, and more," he explained.

"Before implementing ArrayProcessing, varying frequency responses between the front and rear areas posed a significant challenge. However, since deploying this software, we've found an efficient solution that delivers consistent frequency response across the entire listening zone."

On the ground floor music corridor beneath the main dance floor, Han specified a d&b audio solution comprising Yi8 line array elements paired with Yi-SUB subwoofers. On the fourth-floor rooftop, where the central DJ position is surrounded by the swimming pool and bar areas, additional Yi-SUB subwoofers and Yi8 loudspeakers were installed in the cocktail bar zone and the front deck area.

Despite being in operation for less than a year, Chroma has gained industry-wide recognition as a club to watch, ranking No. 73 in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs list.
