Hong Kong famous Canton pop singer, Denise Ho Wan-See, also known as HOCC, cooperated with director Edward Lam to perform "JiaBao Yu Awakening" musical. Its opening was on 7th October2011 at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Theatre. Ho played Jia Bao Yu, who was the only male character in the whole story. She and the Twelve Beauties, who are from Hong Kong and China, re-interpreted one of the four great classical novels of Chinese literature ‘Dream of the Red Chamber’.

To celebrate Ho’s tenth and Lam’s twentieth anniversary entering the show business, "JiaBao Yu Awakening" musical was the first and foremost celebrating performance.  Apart from Ho and Lam, the cast included many well-known talents such as scriptwriter Wong Wing-Sze, lyricist Wyman Wong, choreographer Yuri Ng, and musical director Harris Ho.
