    2021-10-19 15:58:53
  • On May 27, 2020, following the pandemic, Yamaha Musical Instruments & Sound (China) Investment Co., Ltd. commenced technical training sessions for its Chinese distributors on the newly released RIVAGE PM5 and RIVAGE PM3 digital mixing systems. As a long-standing partner of Yamaha, Sound Works earned the company's full support and trust, being selected as the very first stop for this new product technology training.

The meeting was honored to host Mr. Chen Hao, who currently serves as the Technical Director of the PA Sales Department and Manager of the PA Sales Division at Yamaha Musical Instruments & Sound (China) Investment Co., Ltd. He conducted the technical training on the new RIVAGE PM5 and PM3 digital mixing systems at the Sound Works Guangzhou branch. The session was simultaneously livestreamed online, allowing business and technical staff from all regional branches of Sound Works to participate.

    Meeting Agenda:

The Yamaha RIVAGE PM Series has earned widespread acclaim for its exceptional sound quality and flexible control. Now, the introduction of the new CS-R5 and CS-R3 control surfaces, along with the DSP-RX and DSP-RX-EX digital signal processing engines, further elevates its versatility and scalability.

The CS-R5 control surface in the RIVAGE PM5 system features three large-format touchscreens and a condensed selected channel section, contributing to smooth and intuitive operation. To enhance operator comfort and optimize sightlines, we have significantly reduced the physical depth of the console. Meanwhile, the CS-R3 control surface for the RIVAGE PM3 system condenses the full functionality and performance of the RIVAGE PM series into a console measuring just 1,145mm in width, making it the most compact in the lineup. Like other models in the RIVAGE PM series, both control surfaces share an identical fader configuration with three bays, each containing 12 faders. This combination of touchscreens and selected channel controls provides RIVAGE PM series users with the familiar functionality and intuitive operation they expect, while also enabling a seamless transition for users of the CL and QL series.

The new DSP-RX engine provides 120 inputs, 48 mix buses, and 24 matrices, while the DSP-RX-EX engine offers 288 inputs, 72 mix buses, and 36 matrices. These two digital signal processing engines, with their distinct mixing capabilities, combined with the two new control surfaces, significantly expand system configuration flexibility, enabling support for applications of virtually any scale.

The launch was accompanied by the release of Firmware Version 4.0, which introduces a range of control and feature enhancements – including the Eventide SP2016 Reverb plug-in. The V4.0 firmware update will be compatible with all models across the entire RIVAGE PM series product line.

Through this conference, Sound Works has become thoroughly familiar with the RIVAGE PM5 and PM3 digital mixing systems, the two new control surfaces, and the two new DSP engines. This expertise will allow us to offer contractors and clients more choices and greater flexibility, delivering exceptional sound quality across a wider range of applications.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Yamaha Musical Instruments & Sound (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Mr. Chen Hao for their trust and support of Sound Works. Industry professionals and experts interested in learning more about the new RIVAGE PM series products are welcome to contact our sales or technical colleagues, who will be pleased to provide detailed assistance and answers.
