On November 30th, as the first chill of winter arrived, Sound Works hosted a distinctive 2021 Yamaha RIVAGE PM Series Technical Exchange Session at Hainan Television. The event brought together staff from Hainan Television, audio engineers from across the region, and industry experts, gathering in one place to explore the latest technologies and applications in professional audio.

This session was co-hosted by Yamaha Musical Instruments & Sound (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Sound Works. It was primarily dedicated to introducing and demonstrating Yamaha's latest digital mixing systems: the RIVAGE PM5 and PM3.

The session featured an in-depth technical analysis of the RIVAGE series, which includes the Yamaha PM5 and PM3 digital mixing consoles, presented by Mr. Chen Hao, Technical Director of the PA Sales Department at Yamaha Musical Instruments & Sound (China) Investment Co., Ltd.

The Yamaha RIVAGE PM series features a newly designed control surface that enables exceptionally smooth and intuitive operation. We have reduced the depth of the control panel, allowing users to interact with the display and controllers in a relaxed, comfortable posture while also improving sightlines. Each fader, positioned adjacent to the level meters, ensures precise tracking and excellent visibility, enabling fine adjustments with ease.

At the event, Mr. Chen Hao also introduced and demonstrated the DSP Mirroring function, which is supported by the new DSP engine. For scenarios requiring fail-safe redundancy, two DSP-RX engines or two DSP-RX-EX engines can be deployed in a mirrored configuration. If one DSP engine encounters an issue, the second will seamlessly take over to ensure uninterrupted performance.
