On October 27, 2021, Audinate launched its Product Presentation and Technical Training at the Sound Works Guangzhou branch. As an authorized partner of Audinate, Sound Works had the honor of inviting Mr. Andy Wei, Project Manager at Audinate, to serve as the training instructor. Colleagues from our business and technical departments actively participated in the event.

The session provided in-depth knowledge of Dante products, including Dante AVIO adapters, Dante networks, and control software, with particular emphasis on the installation and application of the Dante Domain Manager system. The interactive exchange was highly effective, making the training session truly productive.

    Meeting Content

The session commenced with an introduction to Audinate. Headquartered in Australia, the company specializes in providing networking protocol solutions for audio systems. Audinate's Dante platform distributes digital audio signals over computer networks, aiming to deliver the convenience of IT networking to the professional audiovisual industry. Using Dante-enabled products guarantees interoperability between audio devices and allows end-users to benefit from high-quality, flexible solutions—often with a lower total cost of ownership.

The presentation then focused on the features of Dante AVIO adapters. Each Dante AVIO adapter functions as a complete, high-performance Dante device, enabling seamless integration of legacy audio equipment with any Dante system through simple plug-and-play operation. This allows users to leverage the interoperability, high performance, and scalability unique to networked audio systems, while delivering high-fidelity audio reproduction, ultra-low latency, and precise sample rate synchronization across the entire network.

    USB and USB-C

    ■ Any computer can be connected to a Dante audio network without installing any software, and any audio application can be used for playback or recording.

    Analog Input

    ■ There's no need to discard your familiar mixing consoles, wireless microphones, or other analog sources. Simply integrate them into your audio network using Dante AVIO adapters.

    Analog Output

    ■ Bring your amplifiers, powered speakers, and more into the world of audio networking with Dante AVIO.

    AES3

    ■ There's no need to abandon high-performance AES3-connected amplifiers, DSP units, or microphone preamplifiers. Simply incorporate them into your audio network using Dante AVIO.

The final segment featured an in-depth demonstration focusing on the installation and application of Dante Domain Manager. This network management software provides user authentication, role-based security, and auditing capabilities for Dante networks, while enabling seamless scaling of Dante systems across any network infrastructure. It allows the application of IT best practices to audiovisual systems, significantly enhancing the security, scalability, and manageability of audio networks.

    System Installation

    ■ The installation of Dante Domain Manager safeguards both you and your clients by preventing unauthorized modifications. Through robust user authentication and role allocation, it ensures Dante network security, granting system operation and modification privileges exclusively to authorized personnel. By assigning specific user roles to defined devices, it enables independent control over each zone or location.

    ■ Integrators can use Dante Domain Manager to define specific audiovisual equipment groupings by room, building, or site, enabling the creation of independent Dante domains. A single Dante domain can incorporate multiple subnets without requiring complex network infrastructure, while facilitating the deployment of true enterprise-grade audiovisual systems.

■As control systems continue to expand and grow in complexity, the need to track device labels and user-initiated changes becomes increasingly critical. Dante Domain Manager addresses this by delivering essential management data through overview reports, audit trails, and SNMP notifications, providing the key insights required to administer Dante networks of any scale.

    Application

    ■ Dante Domain Manager is extensively deployed worldwide. Case study videos were presented to demonstrate how Dante together with Dante Domain Manager delivers secure, scalable, and manageable audio networks. The system offers tiered editions enabling users to create Dante domains for device isolation and organization, implement permission-driven user accounts, facilitate cross-subnet audio routing, and leverage robust administrative tools to monitor user activities and system status in critical areas.

    Conclusion

The training session was successfully concluded. We extend our sincere gratitude to Audinate for their exceptional guidance and the insightful content that was both comprehensive and accessible. Our colleagues have gained significant value from this experience. Sound Works remains committed to its founding principle of pursuing excellence as we continue to advance in the industry.
