On April 22, Mr. Chen Hao, Technical Director of the Pro Audio Sales Department at Yamaha Musical Instruments & Audio (China) Investment Co., Ltd., visited Sound Works' Guangzhou branch to conduct promotional training on the new RUio16-D product for our technical and business staff.

The RUio16-D/VST Rack Pro represents an innovative solution from Yamaha that enables users to integrate VST3 plugins into any Dante-based audio system. Compact, lightweight, and ruggedly constructed, it is designed to become an essential component of every audio engineer's toolkit.

In addition to allowing engineers to use their favorite VST3 plugins, VST Rack Pro also comes bundled with over 30 high-quality plugins from Yamaha and Steinberg. These include hardware emulations of classic compressors and equalizers utilizing Yamaha’s Virtual Circuit Modeling (VCM) technology, as well as the industry-leading REV-X reverb. The bundled Steinberg plugins encompass versatile sound shapers such as Quadrafuzz v2, REVerence sample-based reverb, and VST Amp Rack; problem-solving tools like Cloner and MultibandEnvelopeShaper; and an unparalleled suite of visual monitoring tools such as SuperVision.

On the hardware configuration front, the RUio16-D delivers 16 Dante inputs and 16 outputs, a high-quality preamplifier, and two analog audio inputs/outputs with phantom power support, enabling its use as an interface for acoustic measurements. It also features independent gain control and PAD switches for each analog input, switchable Monitor/Dante/USB output level control, and a headphone output with volume adjustment. Additionally, it includes a Bypass USB utility function that allows VST3 plugins to be bypassed without audio interruption, automatically adjusting the output level to a pre-configured SPL to ensure seamless and uninterrupted performance.
